Manufacturer description

The AA was formed in 1905 famously meeting in the Trocadero Restaurant in London. Memberhip of the organisation grew rapidly and five years later they had patrols across the country. Intially the cycle scouts were employed at weekends to advise members of police traps ahead, but this soon changed as they began helping stranded motorists. In the late 1940's the introduction of two-way radio transformed the organisation as they were able to be contacted centrally to attend a members vehicle. The long wheelbase Defender is the perfect vehicle for organisations such as the AA and it is in its element as used by the Special Operations Response Team. Any AA member in trouble on the roads would feel great relief and confidence if the real thing rolled up to help in an emergency. This 1:76 scale model, registered AK53 TXJ, has the AA image logo on all sides, including the bonnet, as well as on the specially fitted roof lightbars. Painted in the AA signature yellow and black, additional colour sees the rear of the vehicle with the high visibility chevron effect and the Special Operations Response Team lettering in black out of a bright red filling the back window, above the spare wheel.
